Week Three of OUR Favorites, Day Two: Diversity in Fantasy Art-Peculiar Ink+ Ellen Oh's Prophecy/Warrior & Sarwat Chadda's The Savage Fortress/The City of Death giveaway!

So were on to the second day of Week Three of our favorites conceptual ideas of Diversity depicted in Fantasy/Sci-Fi art.

Some days will be a particular artist's work, or the conceptual mind behind the art...Or a little bit of both!

Today's Highlight:

Peculiar Inc.

One of the to-reads on the Twinjas shelf is a book by author C.S.R. Calloway, called "Peculiar Inc." While it's has strong Christian themes(not a bad thing, but not being Christian ourselves, were open to religious diversity in books)it also has strong diversity representation.

Amongst five of the main characters, four are people of color. Each of them have amazing super powers, which is totally awesome!

The face of the series features a darker hued black teenage girl, which we absolutely love, and makes us buy often instantly!

The author, amongst team behind Peculiar Inc., held an amazing contest on Deviantart in early 2014, and these are just a few samples of what was depicted by artists willing to get in on the fun!

  1. Looks like the artist goes for fantasy art with a modern twist! And the book looks interesting too, though I'm not Christian, I'll hopefully get the book sometime soon.

  2. @Ashfa Right? Im not Christian either, but I love that one character is mixed race, one black, one asian, one latino. and only one white! Woulda liked to see more girls, but it's a step in the right direction!
