Gain
new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature &
Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make
some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the
point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you
follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!
How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, (using the linky tools -- keep scrolling!) then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is our Feature today? Find out below. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow our Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to Wordpress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don't have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, The rules are...
- (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
- (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
- Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
- Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
- If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
- Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
- If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
- If you're new to the Follow Friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog
This week's Question:
Before blogging (dark times people!) how would you find out about new books or did you? - Suggested by A Great Read
Guinevere & Libertad:
Well it was simple really. Mostly from book stores. Checking out new releases and such or browsing through old titles. But mainly through Amazon. We kinda always let the "suggested titles" after making a purchase influence how we bought books. For example:
*Based on you recent purchases, other customers also bought this.....*

Doesn't get much simpler than that, lol.
Any follows via gfc, bloglovin or networked blogs are appreciated but we prefer GFC and Bloglovin if you can manage both.
We're
new to tumblr and so, so lonely so tumblr follows are also much
appreciated! And like us on facebook, it only takes a moment =D
I never really used the internet for finding books when I was younger. It was mainly through friends and family that I got my recommendations. Can't be without Goodreads and book blogs now though! I'm a new Bloglovin' follower.
ReplyDeleteMy FF post
Yea, it clearly was a method that worked, because everyone was obviously able to find both and keep reading, but we were blessed/cursed with the age of internet =D
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to stop by =D
I love going to the bookstores. I could spend hours in there. Thank you for stopping by. :)
ReplyDeleteNew GFC and Bloglovin follower
I love your blog! Just followed you on Blog Lovin' and FB :) I still enjoy visiting bookstores; I don't think I'll ever tire of it actually :)
ReplyDeleteI still love going to bookstores even though I don't buy anything most of the time. Have a good week and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteSharon @ Sharon's Book Nook!
Thanks for visiting. I still enjoy going to a book store, but I don't do it very often (probably better for my wallet!) Thanks for visiting Annette's Book Spot. I'm following via Feedly.
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten to add this to my own post, I'd use Amazon as well, mainly like I use Goodreads now, to track when my favorite authors have new releases. Bookstore tables were helpful as well.
ReplyDeleteNew follower on GFC, old on Bloglovin :)
@Jess, actually had some crazy ways outside of bookstores as well XD But Borders was the best bookstore before it went out of business XD
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by =)
@Claudia, did you have a favorite book store? Do you usually hit up the chains or the indie book stores? Oh thanks for the compliment :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
@Sharon, yea, I usually go just because Im in the area. Its very rare when I go with the intentions to buy =) I just study the books they choose to face front, vs the ones that only show the book's spine. How many multicultural books are new releases, things like that!
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying your weekend!
@Annette, we actually spend too much on books! Recently, we started trying to support more brick and mortars, but sometimes it's hard, because money gets tight, and amazon typically does have the best prices.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow! Hope you're having a great weekend!
@JamieLH
ReplyDeleteSeriously, there were tons of ways we forget, especially after being refreshed by other people's posts. I suppose different stages of our 29 years had different methods XD But our post just had the one we remembered first!
Thanks for taking the time to comment and follow =D
Oh yes, those Amazon suggestions introduced me to so many books before I found Goodreads! Thanks for stopping by my blog, following back via Bloglovin'. Have a great week :D
ReplyDeleteAlma @ Journey Through Fiction
Hello, Thanks for stopping by Jessy's Bookends. Like you, I take those Amazon suggestion into consideration when buying books. Love this blog statement about Diversity in books. Following by gfc.
ReplyDeleteYup, nowadays, I definitely enjoy looking at the Amazon suggestions feature as well. Have found a lot of great books that way :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my post earlier, following you back via GFC
