So we’re very pleased with this week’s line up. Most are some really cool super-homies coming up, and today isn’t any different.

We highlight a ton of authors this month, because, duh! We love reading books! But what we get the most out of this month is our feedback from other bloggers. When we were as unknown as you could be(even though I wouldn’t say we’re very well known. But people find it hard to forget the word Twinja XD) we were invited into the book blogosphere from so many friendly faces that helped us build the type of themes we highlight to this day. We couldn’t have done it without the community of bloggers we’ve become apart of, and I for one love seeing blogs like today’s guests, because it feels like the community seeking and wanting more for the conversation about inclusion is only getting bigger.

And we’re not getting just one, but two voices, all in one interview =D

So today's guest is the awesome-smaw-some Librarian Hannah Gomez.

We had the pleasure of meeting her at this year's KidLitCon(which by the way was intimidating XD)

And it occurred to us, that this would be the prefect opportunity to ask if she might participate in our 2nd Annual Diversity Month.

We featured her on our list of "Why We Need Diverse Bloggers" when we highlighted Black book bloggers during Black Speculative Fiction Month, but it's still the tip of the iceberg of what makes the writer of Mclicious.org tick!

Her experience in libraries was also what made her a great choice, as we wanted to open our floor to librarians, the real gateway to children and diverse books.

We first discovered this blogger well before we started blogging ourselves and were happy to see that other people were really interested in diverse characters enough to dedicate a blog to it. There were a bunch of us already talking about the diversity in books movement well before it became this gigantic hashtag and this opinionated blogger was one who kept the conversation going. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!Here we are again hosting some more amazing people in this pool of people interested in multicultural books. Today we'd like to introduce you to a website very similar to our own called "Rich in Color". 

The site hosts many bloggers that talk about diversity in books and review books and they're all just as passionate about it as we are. We thought about how challenging it can be sometimes when promoting a site with a particular "theme', so any efforts we can make to tell others about their amazing blog as well as other amazing blogs promoting diversity, we plan to shout off to the rooftops until there's no reason to do so :) So today we have the lovely Audrey Gonzalez, representing "Rich in Color."

Aliens? Stars? And Books?-A sit down with Diverse Book Blog Creator, Ruth De Jauregui

When we first started this blog, we looked all over the internet for blogs similar to the idea we had in mind for a multicultural book blog. If you didn't know, it's much harder to find books with diverse themes when you don't know what you're looking for. Fortunately for us, we were introduced to this website/blog just a little before we started and were so impressed that she had taken all this time to chronicle the books she found that featured diverse characters in Science Fiction and Fantasy. It really helped start our search on some great books to review. We've always considering having her on and now we finally gathered up the nads to ask her :) She's pretty awesome and very active in her cause. Let's take a few moments to get to know her and her amazing blog, Alien Star Books!
