But now that we're entering the last few days of our month long event of interviews, we're delighted to introduce who's next up!

We were looking for more books featuring trans characters in YA and SFF, and this author's publisher directed us to her fabulous book series =D

We've gotten to have a few exchanges with her as well, and we're learning that while the state of inclusion is getting better, there's still a lot of ways we fail, and need room for improvement(There was an interesting debate about the state of Jewish main characters or bodies of works by Jewish authors, that if you don't know, you should really check out here!)

So we’re very pleased with this week’s line up. Most are some really cool super-homies coming up, and today isn’t any different.

We highlight a ton of authors this month, because, duh! We love reading books! But what we get the most out of this month is our feedback from other bloggers. When we were as unknown as you could be(even though I wouldn’t say we’re very well known. But people find it hard to forget the word Twinja XD) we were invited into the book blogosphere from so many friendly faces that helped us build the type of themes we highlight to this day. We couldn’t have done it without the community of bloggers we’ve become apart of, and I for one love seeing blogs like today’s guests, because it feels like the community seeking and wanting more for the conversation about inclusion is only getting bigger.

And we’re not getting just one, but two voices, all in one interview =D

What we really liked about her(outside of the bias we now have, having spoken on a panel with her XD )was how honest she was about the privileges she had, despite being a woman of color in the publishing industry, and life for that matter.

So I haven't had a free minute to post our 4th choice in Book Boos, but since it's just before midnight my time(EST) I figure, it cant hurt to post it before the day ends!

Our next Book Boo comes from one of the first reviews I gave this year(Guinevere). It's been bugging me all the time after that #WeNeedDiverseBooks tweet BookRiot highlighted about Black boys.

Made us wonder whether we were doing enough to highlight more Black boys in books, and not just boys of color as a whole.

Highlighting all boys of color is important, but in an era where #BlackLivesMatter is still a concept that is not widely accepted, it's important to have, share, highlight, and make sure positive images of Black boys and girls make it through =)

Our Day Four Book Boo is "Matthew" from "The Boy in the Black Suit".(My fan-casting is totally my fantasy btw! XD )

Just going to be friggin' honest. What really draws us to this cover? That it's unmistakeably got a girl of color on the cover IN THE MIDDLE(where most folks eyes divert)and looking super awesome!

Last Week of our Diversity Month Event! -Twinja Book Reviews 2nd Annual Diversity Month+Kindle Fire 6" and Book Giveaway!

We're so sad to say our Diversity Month is almost over =(

We've hosted amazing interviews featuring agents, authors, librarians and bloggers, all in the name of diversity, and we can't wait to start preparing for next year's event.

We have just a few days left in this month, so we wanted to make sure everyone stayed tuned for our last guests! 

Our last guests are personal favorites, in terms of giving both Libertad and I growth, as far as the diversity conversation and making our representation stronger with how we handle marginalizations that we may lack the knowledge in ourselves. We've gotten the chance to meet one of our last guests(as well as a few of our other guests this month) but his words meant so much to us when we heard him speak at 2014's BookCon. 

And our blogger guest, her blog has taught us more about Gender/Sexuality and Disability Equality than we could have ever known. It's such an honor to be able to have her, we honestly don't think there's a better blog out there that details representation better than her.
