Book Blogger Hop: August 2nd- August 8th & Feature & Follow #6

Welcome to the New Book Blogger Hop hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer

A place to connect with other bloggers and gain new followers XD

What to do:

1. Post on your blog answering this question:

This week's question submitted by Elizabeth

How do you turn down a review request?

2. Enter the link to your post in the linky list below (enter your Blog Name and the direct link to your post answering this week’s question. Failure to do so will result in removal of your link).

3. Visit other blogs in the list and comment on their posts. Try to spend some time on the blogs reading other posts and possible become a new follower.  The purpose of the hop is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Guinevere's answer:

Because our blog is so specific(We prefer to review blogs that embrace diversity as well as POC/Gay/Disabled/Plus Sized/Non-Christian as Main Protagonists), Every once in a while we get someone who still would like for us to review their book. We reward a full point for diversity so if the book doesn't have it, the highest our rating will be is a 4. Many aren't happy about that but some are okay with it. It's hard to turn down Indie books because the indie market thrives on our reviews but our blog has such a specific theme :)

Libertad's answer:

Well typically if the Author hasn't read the review policy or completely ignored the books or genres we prefer, I won't respond. But for the most part I've tried to give most books I've been offered as long as the grammar was decent. If it's Indie and it looks like a first draft, I'll let the author know I may not give it the best review so maybe I'm not the perfect blogger to review it. I had to give a bad review a while ago and it has stayed with me, so I prefer to review books I can share my love for them!

 This weeks wonderful question:

How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

Guinevere's Answer:

I usually try to power through because I having to have to come back to it.I haven't had a case where i completely put a book down BUT it usually resulted in a less than flattering review XD But I will put a book down when the grammar and punctuation drives me crazy!

Libertad's Answer:

I've only put a book down once so far where I don't plan on picking it up.I marked it DNF but usually I'll try to finish reading it. The reason I put down the last book because it was so poorly written and I just couldn't take it anymore.

Any follows through GFC, Bloglovin, NetworkedBlogs, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest will be rewarded with follow backs for sure!!!

  1. I have quite a few responses, but my main reason is I am too filled with requests or the genre isn't correct for me.

I have said I wouldn't be the best blogger to review your book. :)

Declining is tricky, but it can be done graciously as I have seen from many answers today including mine. :)

Stop by for my full answer if you like.

    Happy Hopping!!
