Week One: Covers - Sixth Favorite! The Rivers of Zadaa by D.J.MacHale+ Ellen Oh's Prophecy/Warrior & Sarwat Chadda's The Savage Fortress/The City of Death giveaway!

This week has been a blast! Book Covers, like it or not, have to be the funnest thing that draws you to a book. Yea a blurb can be something that draws you in but that's assuming only after the book cover excited you enough to pick it up!

This week's final favorite book cover is......
*Drumroll*

The Rivers of Zadaa, Book 6 of the Pendragon series by D.J. Mchale

Sooooo....I've loved this series so far but parts of the reason I loved it was Bobby's
right hand lady, Loor. One of the reasons this cover really spoke to me was because it finally depicted Loor in all her greatness!

She was one of those characters in books that made the #weneeddiversebooks hashtag ring true for me! Before this book I had never read a fantasy themed book that featured a teenage black girl as a fierce, butt kicking, take no prisoners heroine! She's actually the reason I started writing myself! And naturally since I ship Bobby and Loor, so I love the fact that they're on it together!

Finalizing our first week of favorite book covers, What's you absolute favorite book cover?

  2. @Ashfa Honestly the series and popular and financially successful, but a part of why most havent heard of it, could be that it was overshadowed by Harry Potter. I admit, Harry Potter is definitely better written, but it lacks diversity with the MAIN characters. I dont think this series is perfect. But it's high point is definitely its diversity!
