The Birth of GL Tomas, The Mark of Noba Cover Reveal, and Writing Books You Want To See-Thoughts on Self Publishing

Yea, we know, we know. It's been like 2 1/2 years since we talked about that so called book...what's it called?

Oh yeah, "The Mark of Noba?" Yea, that's it.

It's never been a secret that we planned to self publish. It's not because we're lazy, or have been rejected by publishers, or for any other reason except that it's by choice.

To be honest, it was our 1st choice.

Im sure it's a little tired, but Toni Morrison's phrase "If there is a book that you want to read, but hasn't been written yet, you must be the one to write it" holds true for many authors seeking to see images that reflect them, but aren't seeing them at the rate they'd like.

Two and a half years is a long time to talk about a book but not release it. You constantly get probed with the questions and judgment about why it's taking sooooooooo long, but if you're not happy with your craft as it is, there shouldn't be in a rush to be a part of the published authors club =)

Being published doesn't make you any less of a writer, so you should always take the time that's right for you to reveal your work to the world!

But with that being said, "The Mark of Noba" is finally being published!
We recently got our manuscript back from our amazing editor, and it came back a helluva lot better than it was written XD I mean really, if we could write like that from the beginning, life would be all good, lol.

But now we're in for some learning months. We'll have to learn how to market "The Mark of Noba" and see if any of the strategies we've learned from other authors worked, which we'll be chronicling in a Post Series called "Thoughts on Self Publishing" , which will so be open to other authors, if they'd like to join in!

One of our first rounds of promotion will be our cover reveal hosted by Lola's Blog Tours. We plan on also doing a Diverse Book Tour in the coming months, for hosts who'd like to host "The Mark of Noba" there too =>

If anyone is interested in hosting our Cover Reveal, you can either hit up the button above, or the link below to sign up.

The cover is pretty sweet! You won't regret it if you do!

We're also doing a Deluxe Book Blitz with Lola's Blog Tours, which will give you access to read the book for free, if you sign up =>

If you want to sign up, you can also click the link below!

You can also view it on Amazon!
There'll be an awesome giveaway for the Blitz, so be sure to tune for that! My last shameless plug will be for Diverse Book Tours!

If you're looking to promote more diverse books, or read more diverse books, Diverse Book Tours highlights YA, NA, Romance, Speculative Fiction, and many more with diverse heroes and heroines! If you'd like to be a host, or check in from time to time to see if any books interest you, you can do so by clicking on the button below!

  1. First off MEGA-CONGRATS THIS IS SO HUGE!! And honestly I think y'all taking your time about it is exactly the right approach. You're getting it right, and that's the important thing.

And second thing, I'm hopping over to Lola's to sign up for that blog tour right now...

  2. I signed up for both - and I chose "excerpt" because reviewing the book of two friends of mine would not be ethically appropriate...Regardless, I'll campaign for it the best that I can, and I'm looking forward to read the whole thing in its edited format!
    Congrats and best of luck!
