So Day Three was chosen because it was one of the first books I read about dancers who weren't ballerinas. It's actually much harder to find than you think, especially with hip hop dancers.

Also for folks squeamish about love scenes, they're not described in detail and are few and far between.

Reasons I chose A Rehearsal For Love:

~It's an African-American NA Romance. I'm not sure if people prefer less drama-filled romances in AA Romance so it doesn't focus on New Adult as much as traditional Adult. So it's not easy finding two Black folk as a couple in NA.

~Their dancing of choice is hip hop. I think it's more mainstream for dancers to be ballerinas in books, which is a shame, because hip hop has a strong culture behind it(even though you have to take the bad with the good).

~People pursuing a dreamer occupation. Everyone's reaching for realistic goals like medicine, and law, so it's cool to see folks striving for a creative profession.

~Nice writing style, with accurate vernacular.

This is my third woman of color author I've shot out, so you know the drill. One click those links! Stay tuned for tomorrow!
