So this book is getting on everybody's radar, that people fail to realize it's a self published book. Which is why we stan so hard for all paths to publishing, because it allows marginalized voices spaces they don't always have!

Like many of the books this week, it bridges the gap between YA and NA.

There are so many good things about this book, but I think one has to just break down the major things that make this title amazing!

Reasons why I choose Juliet Takes a Breath:

~The lead is a Puerto Rican feminist, who's also a lesbian. And from the Bronx. Let that sit...

~This character stands up for herself in the most powerful of ways. If you are looking for powerful female queer representation in books, you don't have to look further than this.

~It addresses issues in the LGBTQ+ community without a white gaze. I hate to admit how white books are that focus on issues LGBTQ+ people face, but sometimes I ignore it because as a QWoC, we have so little representation to begin with. I think what people connect the most to with this book is how honest it is to be a QWoC.

~It's a serious book with a sense of humor, my favorite kind of read!

Gabby Rivera is killing it! She's already got it in multiple formats, over 400 Goodreads ratings in such a short time, and a review from Roxane Gay!

Do yourself a favor and grab this book!
